Issuance of Digital Signature Certification

As electronic approval and online business systems become more widespread, our Chamber issues digital signature certificates to promote our members’ convenience. A digital signature certificate is not only used to authenticate a user’s identity online, but also utilized in e-bidding, e-tax, e-finance, e-commerce and e-government systems. Currently we issue two types of digital signature certificates, for individuals and for employers.

Mutual Aid for PL Claims

As Product Liability Law became effective in July 2002, we introduced a mutual aid program as a countermeasure. Our member companies would benefit from the preferential treatment we offer, at a discount rate of up to 30%. In case of a litigation or claim, members can proceed in more favorable conditions than those offered by private insurance companies.

Single PPM - Quality Certification

To promote win-win cooperation between big and small businesses, to secure quality competitiveness of parts & assembly industries, we select and reward exemplary companies in quality innovation, promote Single PPM, provide materials, arrange industrial tours for exemplary companies in Korea and abroad, provide quality training in on-line and off-line courses, bring out quality innovation experts, assist SME efforts to establish a quality innovation system and certify Single PPM.

Trade Documents

Import-export transactions need to be backed up by objective and fair documents. Documents with our certification secure international recognition, and we offer the service at no charge to our members.

Job Placement Center

The CCI runs a free job placement center and holds job fairs in order to stimulate the local economy through the proper supply of industrial workforce and employment security. The CCI also engages in activities that secure the labor-management-government harmony and cooperation.

Employment & Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance

Cheongju CCI provides free paperwork services to a workplace of less than 100 constant employees, with its latest software program and professional experts. The services are regard to not only the file and payment of employment insurance but also industrial accident compensation insurance.

Overseas Operation Support Center

In an effort to help the SMEs in our jurisdiction which have difficulties in export activities due to the shortage of skilled trade-related workforce, we provide support service system on business contact meeting, follow-up, translation and interpretation, etc. with professional personnel.

Public Relations Activities

The CCI strives to give a wide publicity of the opinions of member companies and the projects of CCI through the local media, and at the same time, publishes promotional materials and various research reports and disseminates them to members and local residents.

Vicarious Registration of Bar Code

To cope with the changing environment in logistics such as the spread of the electronic commerce, we are authorized by EAN Korea as the "EAN Code Registration Agent". It is the only organization responsible for the management of commodity code in Korea, and provides consulting on EAN code registration and education on working staffs.

Commerce and Industry Promotion Projects

We are helping member businesses to enhance their capacity to competently cope with the internal and external changes of the economic environment by promptly providing information on the government’s initiatives and policy direction and holding numerous lectures, seminars, training and education (CEOs and middle managers). We also offer customized education services such as the competitiveness strengthening education tour to promote the sound development of the local economy.

High-Growth-Potential SMES

We seek to promote high-growth-potential SMEs from different sectors, by identifying and recommending them as candidates for the government's special award. Selected companies enjoy better opportunities to recruit talented workforces, apply for government-assisted projects and boost the recognition level to enhance corporate value.

Business Assistance

As part of efforts to bring about widespread changes in business management, we have launched the ‘Business Innovation Campaign’ and the ‘Single PPM’ campaign which aims to minimize the defective rate of products. In addition, there is a wide array of assistance projects designed to help create a business friendly environment such as provisions regarding environmental provisions, cooperation between labor and management, cooperation between industry and academia, PL insurance consulting, C2 fund(aggregate ceiling loan), substitute military service application projects and a business writing contest.

Patent Information Consulting

We offer a number of assistance projects regarding intellectual property in order to foster small and mid sized enterprises and venture businesses in the region. These include a patent expert pool, existing technology information searches’, patent application financial assistances, patent technology valuation financial assistances, foreign paten t document translations, patent dispute response strategy consulting, initial patent promotion assistances, sleeping patent discovery projects and a research and analysis of patents for locally specialized industries of the region. These projects are part of our efforts to drive the region’s economic development and nurture its industries.

CEO Roundtable

The most popular service offered by CCI, CEO Roundtable sessions are featuring by timely discussions to meet the needs of member companies. Cheongju CCI invites renowned speakers with professional expertise and holds the meetings at an excellent facility in a convenient location. By delivering current government policies and management information, the CEO Roundtable helps participating CEOs raise management capabilities, socialize with peers and exchange information. It is an excellent and worthwhile for CEOs who want to explore new business opportunities.

New Year's Greeting / Commerce & Industry Day

Every year, we host a New Year's Party where local government officials and business leaders come together to greet the New Year. We also celebrate Commerce and Industry Day to encourage entrepreneurship among business professionals. Rewards are presented to the year's biggest contributors to the nation's development.

CEO Leisure Club

Senior members take the initiative to organize and lead small leisure club in our jurisdiction. Participants have been expressing satisfaction as they join a strong human network through leisure & hobby activities, including golf. CEOs enjoy business talk among members at these gatherings.

CEO Summer Forum

Proudly presented for the last 30 years, this program helps CEOs review their strategies and cope with rapid changes in the business environment. Renowned speakers from various fields provide in-depth knowledge and information to the audience. Participants also enjoy socializing with peer CEO groups to strengthen human networks. We provide a core training program for back office staff. Courses include taxation, accounting, labor and environment management, and offer case studies from first-hand experience. Research & Analysis

We monitor local economic conditions, issues, and outlooks. We release this information to local businesses to help them keep abreast of current economic developments. We relay this information to related government offices to be applied in government economic policy as well. Also, we have conducted ongoing study of overall economic activities that applied to local economic development policy and uses to strengthen the region’s business competitiveness.

Dispatch and Reception of Trade Mission

The CCI has bee striving to cope with the trend of trade liberalization since the launch of WTO, the emergence of regional economic bloc like EU, APEC and NAFTA. With that purpose, the CCI actively supports member companies in their search for new business opportunities through the dispatch and reception of trade missions to and from abroad.

International Cooperation and International Trade Regime

We, the CCI, spearhead international efforts to promote trade rules in Korea, including ICC rules on UCP and INCOTERMS. Also, representing Korea's private sector, we actively engage in efforts to resolve trade issues and promote international cooperation. Moreover, our International Business Research Team assists companies with less experience, by providing counseling on all stages of trade, from negotiating a contract to making/receiving payments. We are also an active member of CACCI, an organization of 24 chambers from the Asia-pacific region. Through these efforts, we promote intra-region trade, technology transfers, small businesses, human resource exchange and economic cooperation. Furthermore, we represent Korea's private sector to promote trade liberalization including Korea-US FTA, and embrace a new opportunities in international trade, including opening new markets.

When it comes to trade missions, we are resourceful at both ends. We dispatch and receive trade missions to and from abroad. At our trade meetings, overseas companies are invited to one-on-one consultations with our members. We host trade meetings both for Korean SMEs seeking overseas market opportunities and foreign investors in Korea looking for trade with Korea's neighboring countries. We actively promote products and services offered by its member companies, at the courtesy calls and on-site tours attended by political and economical leaders. Moreover, we provide a road map for globalization to our member companies.

KorChamBiz gives you full access to the business database you need. Korea's best-acclaimed business portal includes 320,000 postings on local businesses, 1.2 million on overseas businesses and 1.6 million on product information, respectively. Quality knowledge information can be secured thru KorChamBiz.

Informatization Projects

To cope with the rapid changes of the information age, and help facilitate the informatization of local SMEs, we have electronically integrated the control of the region’s businesses, maximizing the efficiency of information use. We also run an agency that provides registration services of digital signature certificates. Besides KorChamBiz and Webmail service help members digitalize their business management and we provide informatization education and consulting services along with relevant agencies.

In line with the era of IT management, the CCI has constructed the database (DB) of company information which contains general business information such as type of business, point of contact, etc in XML format using is state-of-the-art technology. In addition, we provide commodity information based on UNSPSC, which is an international commodity classification system in e-business.

Also, we endeavor to help member companies with their inter-company electronic commerce (B2B) by providing services on real-time updated trade inquiry information and financial information.

Designing of Corporate Webpage and Web hosting Service

To improve the competitiveness and marketing capability of member companies, the CCI helps them design of the website, provide the web hosting service, register service of domain name and electronic mailing service.

Corporate Webmail Service

The CCI offers high-speed webhard and a mail storage space with maximum of 2GB capacity on a company domain.

E-commerce Support Center

In collaboration with MOCIE (Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy), the Cheongju CCI runs "E-commerce Support Center" to provide support in e-commerce projects, electronic receipt, electronic tender bidding and electronic signature authentication, consult on corporate informatization.

Support in Issue of Electronic Receipt

The CCI engages in service that issues the digital electronic receipt which is more swiftly and accurately than the conventional handwritten receipt. In addition, the CCI offers services including the registration and recording of transaction details, filing service for tax return. Also, the CCI operate the website entitled "www.etax.or.kr," which guarantees the security and stability with its forgery-proof system of electronic signature using the official authentication.
