Jeungpyeong County is situated at the centre of the province and sharing boundaries with Goesan eastward, Cheongwon westward, Jincheon and Eumseong northward. As of now, the county takes up 1.1% of the total land surface area of the North Chungcheong Province with an area of 81.8㎢. Jeungpyeong’s land is consisted of about 50.6%, or 41.1㎢ of forests, whereas the land for farming is 31.7%, or 26.0㎢, and others as 17.7%, 14.7㎢. As of December, 2006, it has the population of 30,814 with 11,508 households and is divided into 1 town and 1 subcounty.

The most precipitation is shown in the summer, when the northern Pacific Ocean appears, while the lowest precipitation appears in winter.
